Silver Dollar Eagle
Why do Silver Eagle Dollars have a face value of $1 yet they are worth so much more?
Wouldn't it have been better to give them either no face value at all or a higher face value that was a little closer to the actual worth of the silver? I know that they couldn't get it exactly at the price of Silver ... but why not a face value of $5 or $10???
Just curious
They are made out of silver, probably when they were first invented that is how much the silver would cost.
